How about Income from Consulting?
We all have some life experiences that others could well benefit from. Why not do some consulting to help others oversome their problems while, at the same time, earning some income for yourself and getting that feeling of productivity and increased self worth?
A good first step is to take inventory of the knowledge, skills and experiences that you feel that others could benefit from. Write them down. Build a resume of your pertinent experience demonstrating your vast expertise in your areas of specialty.
Next, make a list of the types of people in society that could make use of your services (this could be individuals, companies, or organizations).
Take the time to research and to build a mailing list of targeted companies and individuals who could become tyour clients.
Send them your resume to them with a cover letter to let them know of your availability and interest in helping them out on a consultancy basis.
You will be surprised how much companies are willing to pay for specific, targeted help to be used on a project by project basis without them having to invest in a full time employee with all of the benefit, taxes, and legal requirment to meet. Don't sell yourself short or undervalue your time. Some of our readers report being paid $50 to $100 per hour plus travel just to go out and advise clients based on your expertise.
Good luck and have fun Consulting!
